Abrasion-resistant suction hoses and transport hoses made of PU and flame-retardant hoses

Our core competence is the manufacture of abrasion-resistant transport hoses and suction hoses made of PU for a wide range of applications in a wide variety of industries.

Solid, liquid or gaseous media are transported through our PU transport hoses by means of pressure, vacuum or gravitational force. Suction hoses made of PU transport solid, liquid or gaseous media by means of "vacuum". All hoses in our product group "Abrasion-resistant suction hoses and transport hoses made of PU / Flame-retardant hoses" are the result of our special expertise in manufacturing hoses made of polyurethanes. In addition to profile-extruded hoses, you will also find film hoses and Miniflex hoses here. Due to our manufacturing expertise, you will benefit from the advantages of polyurethanes in each of the hoses listed here.

MaterialsConstruction & Manufacturing

A key property of polyurethanes is their high abrasion resistance. These robust material properties are measurably better than those of rubber raw materials and soft PVC. In conjunction with the design advantages resulting from the construction of the hoses, polyurethanes thus lay the foundation for hoses that, with their optimum flow profile, are particularly suitable for suction and conveying.

Our abrasion-resistant conveying and suction hoses made of PU are used in a wide range of industrial applications.

Polyurethane: versatile options for suction and delivery hoses

All the hoses we manufacture from polyurethane have some common properties. These include, for example, the significantly greater abrasion resistance of polyurethanes compared with rubber or soft PVC, measured in accordance with DIN ISO 4649 (determination of abrasion resistance). Many hoses made of polyurethane also have a transparent hose wall, so you can keep an eye on the flow of material in the hose at all times and detect faults at an early stage. What's more, all of our hoses produced from polyurethane contain neither halogens nor plasticizers.

In addition to these more general properties, we equip the polyurethane material in many standard hoses with further, tailor-made properties by adding additives. For example, we use polyurethanes with specifically enhanced material properties to manufacture our Flamex hoses. These flame-retardant polyurethane hoses are type-tested to DIN 4102-B1 and meet the safety requirements of the Holz-BG (BGI 739-2).

Polyurethane is also one of the materials to which we add conductive carbon black or other additives. We use such electrically conductive materials to manufacture conductive hoses, some of which you will also find in this product group.

Designs and manufacturing processes of our conveying and suction hoses made of PU

Profile extrusion: A flexible manufacturing process for light to (very) heavy hoses

In terms of design or construction, most of the hoses in this product group belong to the profile extruded hoses. With our extrusion lines we produce hoses in different wall thicknesses:

  • LF (light film hoses)
  • L (light)
  • H (heavy)
  • HX (very heavy)

Our product range thus extends from light, highly flexible to heavy, vacuum-resistant hose qualities. This observation shows that wall thickness makes a significant difference, especially in the case of extruded spiral hoses, both in terms of compressive strength, bending flexibility and weight. Compared to more flexurally rigid hoses, our extruded hoses are generally lightweight and easy to handle.

We are continuously working to improve the profile geometry of our extruded hoses. For example, in the case of individual heavy hoses, we specifically reinforce the zones below the helix and thus at the points where wear is greatest during operation. We also equip our inline hoses with an inner wall made of application-optimized polyurethane 60° Shore A as standard. We also hold the patent for the production of these special hoses with their extremely abrasion-resistant and super-strong PU inliners.

Our Miniflex hoses are also among the abrasion-resistant suction and transport hoses made of PU. Due to their design, Miniflex hoses also bring many advantages for various applications in the field of abrasive media.

Foil hoses as PU suction hoses

By complying with DIN 4102 B1, our film hoses, in addition to their many positive properties, also count as flame-retardant hoses. They are ideally suited as suction hoses for various applications. The construction and manufacturing process also differs from the profile extruded hoses.

Standards for PU delivery and suction hoses: TRGS and ATEX

Most of the products within this group meet the requirements of TRGS 727 or the ATEX standard. The technical rule for hazardous substances TRGS 727 reflects the current safety status for the prevention of ignition hazards due to electrostatic charges and the assessment of an ignition hazard of bulk materials.

It considers in detail electrostatic charges when handling liquids (§ 4 ff), gases (§ 5 ff) and bulk materials (§ 6 ff). In addition, the TRGS also provides information on which hoses may be used when handling the individual media. TRGS 727 distinguishes between aspiration (vacuum transport) and pneumatic transport (pressure transport) of bulk materials.

You should take care to prevent electrostatic charges from the outset. For use in potentially explosive atmospheres, you should use our conductive hose types. However, these hoses must be grounded via the metal-containing support spiral. Please read our operating instructions for this.

Q&A Delivery Hoses

A conveyor hose is a flexible hose designed to move materials from one location to another. Conveyor hoses are often used in industrial and commercial applications to move various types of solids, liquids or gases efficiently and safely. Conveyor hoses can be made of different materials, depending on the requirements of the application and the properties of the materials to be transported.

Masterduct offers a wide range of conveying hoses for different applications and industries. These hoses are characterized by their quality, flexibility, durability and specific properties. Examples of Masterduct brand conveying hoses include:

An exhaust hose is a flexible hose designed to exhaust or discharge air, gases, vapors, dust, dirt particles, or other substances from a location. Suction hoses are used in various industries and applications.

Masterduct offers a wide range of suction hoses for different applications and industries. In the industrial context, Masterduct suction hoses are also used for the extraction of solids. The suction hose can thus perform similar functions to the conveying hose. Examples of Masterduct brand transport hoses include:
